About me

Coming into therapy is a significant step, and I don’t take it lightly that someone would choose to do this work with me.The work itself belongs to the person I’m sitting with — coming to know themselves more fully and  responding more kindly, with greater compassion, authenticity, and care.

I feel privileged to accompany people as that relationship develops over time. I value not only the moments of insight and change, but also the quieter, often unnoticed moments of simply being present, becoming curious, and gently finding a new way forward. Both matter. Both are part of the work.

People I work with

I work with adults, often professional women, who are looking for longer-term, in-depth therapy rather than short-term symptom management.

I also provide professional supervision to nurses, mental health clinicians, and alcohol and other drug workers, including supporting practitioners through AHPRA processes and their return to practice.

Background

I’ve worked in mental health for more than 24 years, first as a Registered Nurse and now as a Counsellor.

My nursing career began in acute and inpatient mental health settings in New Zealand and later Western Australia, including addiction and detoxification services, emergency departments, and psychiatric inpatient units.

Since 2011  I’ve worked in private practice alongside my nursing career. In 2010 I completed a Master of Human Services Counselling at Curtin University, allowing counselling to become an increasingly central part of my work.

Professional Development

My work is informed from  training in various modalities, here are a few more recent ones, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, body-based Schema Therapy, EMDR, IFS EMDR, Soul Card Facilitation and Initiatic Art Therapy, Sensorimotor-guided drawing.

I’m also engaging in professional training in Hakomi psychotherapy — an approach that deeply resonates with how I understand therapeutic change and already shapes how I work.
